I heard they are closing, at least around here, several of their stores. I worked for their corporate office once as a temp and the two guys in charge were very nice. I loved their food. Say it isn't so!
Hmmm, I haven't heard a thing about this, but I'm hoping it isn't so, either. I love Outback, even if I don't get to go there very often. Where did you hear this?
Just went last night, no closing here as far as I know.
It may strictly be a local thing near me, I hope so. Glad to hear it isn't closing where you guys are.
Oh that'll be terrible...I heard it was a good place and I would like to try it, so I really hope not.
The food there is absolutely delicious! So I really hope that this is a rumour as well.
Their food is amazing! I wish they had one here in boston though. I went to the one near the university I attended in downstate New York. Yummm.
That's the first time I've ever heard it called Downstate New York. *smile*
SO would downstate be the burros and Long Island?
It's interesting... When I was younger, I lived up on the Canadian border near the thousand islands. that to me, was upstate. when I attended college in westchester county new york, people thought that traveling an hour north of new york city was upstate. I always laughed at that. To me, upstate doesn't start until you're into the catskill mountains etc. Now, places like syracuse, rochester, utica, albany, that is certainly upstate. I'd consider downstate to be westchester, putnum, rockland county, nyc, long island, etc. If you can get somewhere via the metro north train lines, than that to me is downstate. I'm sure those born in the city or on long island etc would disagree with that though.
Oddly enough, I never heard the term downstate, just upstate when referring to anywhere outside the burrows or Long Island. Otherwise, I've usually heard Uptown, Downtown and The City. But to be fair, I haven't been to New York that much. I grew up going upstate many times, because my twin lived in Scarsdale, and only made it to Staton Island, Astoria and Manhatton starting three years ago.
Aw, I hope not! I love Outback!
It used to be my favourite steakhouse until I tried the Longhorn. Man oh man are their steaks good! Still, Outback has really fabulous cheese fries and their steaks are one of a kind. *smile*
longhorn is very good but I love outback's bread yum. do not think they are closing here either.
Mmmm, the bread! Yes, forgot about that. *smile*
Hmmmm. I haven't been to longhorn. Perhaps I'll give it a try when the oppurtunity arises. And yes Tiffanitsa, I haven't heard downstate either really. However, I had to call it something and as down is the polar opposite of up, I went with it. lol.
no it's not...
I hope not, I think I've only eaten there once, and it was real yummy from what I remember. Wanna go again, but they don't have one in this god forsaken town I am supposed to call home. Gonna have to go find one though, even if that means traveling. yum
i googled this and get the impression that it is an individual restaurant decision. with the economy as shaky as it is, some can't make it.
I hope not. I love the food everytime I go.
